Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Fares & Fuels Facility is a $40 million, 150-bus, operations, maintenance and administration facility, with planned expansion to 250 buses. The facility is located on a site of approximately 15 acres immediately south of UTA’s administrative offices in Salt Lake City. The project involved designing an administration and operations building, a bus maintenance facility, a CNG and diesel fuel facility, a drive-through bus wash building and canopies to provide cover for all 150 buses. The project was designed to be highly efficient through high-performance design and on-site, renewable energy consisting of a co-generation plant and a photovoltaic array.
Layout of site utilities, including new underground lines required for power and telecommunications services, locations of equipment (transformers, pad switches and metering cabinets), Site lighting, Building power distribution, Wiring devices, Interior lighting and lighting control, Lighting fixture schedule, Emergency power requirements: generator systems and emergency/standby distribution, Fire alarm systems, Empty raceways and pathways for communications, security and low-voltage systems, and PV systems.
