We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and designing systems that truly make a difference. In this role, you’ll contribute to projects that support environments where people live, learn, heal, and work—from healthcare and higher education to commercial and industrial facilities.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that values thoughtful design, clear communication, and continuous growth. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of your work, expand your technical expertise, and grow into a leadership role over time.

What You’ll Do

Design & Engineering

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems for commercial and institutional projects
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system modeling
  • Prepare engineering calculations, layouts, and specifications aligned with industry codes and standards
  • Select and specify equipment such as air handling units, pumps, boilers, chillers, ductwork, and piping systems
  • Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices

Project Coordination

  • Serve as the mechanical lead on assigned projects
  • Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Support project schedules and budgets alongside the Project Manager
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist during construction phases
  • Visit project sites to observe installations and help resolve technical challenges

Quality & Mentorship

  • Review designs and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and designers
  • Contribute to designs that are practical, maintainable, and built to last

Client Engagement

  • Participate in client meetings to help define project goals
  • Assist with proposals, including scope and fee input
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design within an AEC consulting environment
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (experience with Bluebeam and load calculation software like Trace 700, HAP, or EnergyPlus is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, NFPA)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with extended periods at a computer
  • Occasional site visits to support construction and field coordination
