Salt Lake County District Attorney Office Buildings
Spectrum provided engineering design services that follow the current codes and standards, and the latest energy codes. Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office adjacent to the Matheson Courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City and it designed to achieve LEED Gold. The unique building features windows on the south and west facing sides made up of tri-colored glass. The first floor, encased in clear glass, is the only portion open to the public. The use of clear glass aims to convey a sense of transparency. The southeast corner of the building has an additional exterior window art that is attached to the building and will be lit from below to highlight the artwork and building.
Spectrum’s design services included a new building electrical service which involved a new 2000kVA transformer that will serve the new main switchboards at 480/277 volt, three-phase, four-wire which is distributed to the building through distribution boards and power panelboards. Additionally, Spectrum designed the 250kW emergency generator for emergency electrical circuits and the backup power for the critical areas of the building.
