Spectrum provided electrical engineering and lighting design for the two-story 49,300 sq. ft. Skullcandy Headquarters. The building is home to 160 Utah-based employees and was designed with enough space for that number to double. The office features many impressive amenities including a plaza with skate park, a skate ramp in the lobby, an echo-fee space and 3D printing areas.
The Skullcandy headquarters was designed with employees in mind. From having all employees on the same floor to incorporating natural lighting design, the space is focused on openness. Conference rooms and offices are in the core of the building while allowing for individual employee areas to be near windows. The building’s location determined many aspects of the design as Skullcandy wanted to preserve the natural surroundings while maximizing the views.
Challenges included a tight schedule, with tricky weather conditions that caused site issues. Spectrum Engineers provided the electrical engineering, and lighting design for the new headquarters.
